Comments: Before she got sick, we had made an appointment with a new vet for a check up, but with all of her problems it became something more. After examining her, the new vet made arrangements with a specialist to look at Pica and to hopefully get some answers.
I held her on my lap for the hour long car trip out to the distant suburbs. Pica was having a hard time breathing and was opening her mouth with every gasp for air, but she was alert. Little did I know that this was going to be the last time that I would hold her.
