01 | 29 | 07 > ORANGE YOU GLAD I DIDN'T SAY BANANA?

Hello out there Nerfect update fans and welcome to the weekly updates. It is a chilly day here in the Midwest, and hopes are high for the latest batch of updates.

As you may have guessed from the above banner, we have a few new Nerfect mugs over at Cafe Press. "Few" is the wrong word actually. There are almost too many mugs and steins sporting your favorite Nerfect and Mr. Walters' characters, including that darling of the people, Diabolical Hot Dog. Go check out the selection in our mug department, and wonder if maybe there is something wrong with me.

Once again, I have kept it all together again long enough to craft another fine batch of daily drawings for my 4x6x365 '07 series. Dare to review the latest batch starting with the first of the new drawings here.

Speaking of my daily drawings, the last batch included a gem featuring turkey waffles based on a true experience. I promised pictures from the experience, and I try not to disappoint. Check out my shots of food that doesn't look like what it actually is right here.

I have also updated my Picture of The Week and Link of The Week, and thus, have avoided going completely insane for another week. Take care and stay Nerfect!

| 22 | 07 > WEEKLY UPDATES, NOW WITH MORE FIBER!

Originally I had written a piece here about how I sometimes find it difficult to write these entries on Sunday nights, but you don't need to read about that. You need to find out about what has been updated on this fine website, so here it is.

Another week has gone by and another set of my daily drawings has been completed and posted for your inspection. To see what has been added to the 4x6x365 '07 series, start here with the one from this past Monday..

I've also updated the Picture of The Week and the Link of The Week, so please go check them out. Yes, that is right, I said "please." I'm just that classy.

| 15 | 07 > THE NAME OF THE GAME IS "UPDATES"

Hello all you out there in internet-land and welcome to this week's batch of hot updates. If it is possible, I was totally ahead and behind in the updating process this weekend. I had prepared a lot of the files before hand, but a viewing of the long, second part of a program about Queen Elizabeth I put me a little behind schedule on the actual updating. Curse you PBS and the tragic life of England's first queen!

Okay, I don't mean that. PBS is a fine institution for the most part, and a dead monarch's troubled life needs no more cursing. I'm really the one to blame here. I got sucked into the whole thing. Damn my love of history. Anyway, let's get to those updates.

Shifting a bit from the usual order of things, I would like to announce that I've added a couple more Bottle Cap Portraits to the ol' website here. I came across a pair in an ill-fated attempt to clean up my studio that I had done on orange juice lids a while back. I'm probably not going to do many more in the near future, but I thought I should make the collection complete.

For those of you who don't know, for a while I was drawing little character portraits on the plastic caps of soda and juice bottles. It was a pretty regular practice at my last job that was paired with my daily trip to the building store for my afternoon sugar fix.

One tradition that hasn't diminished is my daily drawing project, the 4x6x365 series. Now in it's third year and rolling with the handle of 4x6x365 '07, I'll be hitting the one-thousand drawing mark this year. That is some time off though, so why not amuse yourself with this week's batch of drawings, starting with this one.

I've also managed to put up a new Picture of The Week, as well as featuring a new Link of The Week... A feature that I've been considering a new name for. How does "Internet, You So Crazy?" strike you?

Well, that is it for now. See you later. Stay Nerfect!

| 08 | 07 > STILL SWINGING

Where does the time go? As I write this, my weekend is coming to a close. I might be able to squeeze in a little fun before I have to hit the sack, but all I'm wondering now is where did all the time go. It seems like only moments ago when I was leaving work a little bit later than usual, and now it is late Sunday night. Oh, I tried to make the best of my time off, but the rest I so dearly needed was dosed out in small quantities.

I have been having a hard time sleeping lately. This is nothing really new for me, sleep and I have never had the best of relationships, but this past week was particularly rough. I think we trick ourselves into thinking that we'll relax a bit or make the sleep up on the weekend. This strategy has never worked for me. The post-work nap rarely happens.

Anyway, while I'm still upright, let's talk about these updates the public is all talking about. As many of you know, I recently had an unscheduled break from my usual weekly updates because my house was robbed and the thieves made off with the computer. Last week was the first chance I had to return to my usual form and it was a bit tricky. This week, I'm a bit more surefooted, and am happy to return regular Nerfect service to our loyal visitors.

Last week, I threw out a bit of a cliffhanger regarding a few of our regular features, and I am pleased to reveal that I intend to keep running then. The biggest of which is my 4x6x365 series, which now will be entering its third year and we will see the one-thousandth drawing sometime later this year. Huzzah! Let's get things started with the first drawing in this new series.

I've also decided to bring back the Link of The Week and the Picture of The Week, so fans of those two features don't hold back. Rejoice!

As revealed last week, I had been working on some changes to this site before my system was stolen, and I am still considering those same revisions, but it will probably take a while. I will keep you posted.

Before I sign out this week, I'd like to wish both my mother and my brother the happiest of birthdays. Um... Happy birthday you two!

Until next week, stay Nerfect.

| 01 | 07 > HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Let's hope this year, 2007, ends up better than this one. Not just for us in the house of Nerfect, but for everyone. This last year has really had its ups and downs. We've lost good friends, reconnected with der old ones and have made gret new ones. Perosnally, I've done good work and have moved on in my career. In short, I wish all the best for aught seven.

Here we are with the first weekly update of the new year and if anything I am wewll aware that even with all the set backs as of late, things do indeed move on. I had planned a few changes for Nerfect come 2007, and they still might happen, but having your computer stolen tends to throw a wrench into the works. The new Nerfect for the new year might be delayed a bit as I rethink things a little. Don't let that last part worry you too much. Any changes to this site are planned to be positive ones.

Speaking of positive, another year's worth of drawings has been completed. Yes, the last of the 4x6x365 drawings have been posted for your review. You can see what I've done in the past week starting here. Now, I guess the big question is now what will become of the series now? Will Mr. Walters be drawing a picture a day in this year? As much as I am tempted to leave you all with a doozy of a cliffhanger, I will say that the temptation to make that one-thousand drawing mark is a bit too much for me to pass up. Please come back next week to see if I've cut more four by six inch pieces of paper and drawn whatever foolishness enters my head.

Foolishness reminds me, while Nerfect was offline with the weekly updates, we did receive a brand spankin' new sticker in the ol' sticker shop. Yes, Lucha Bear joins the roster of famous Nerfect stickers. Get not one, but two of them for just one lonesome dollar! That is one for you and one for your pal. Check it out and pick it up if it is your cup of tea.

Regular visitors might have noticed that since our return, there hasn't been a new Picture of The Week or Link of The Week. It has beena real trick to get things up and running again, and the two features just haven't been attended to yet. Truth told, I'm wondering if I'll be continuing with them in 2007. It'sanother cliffhanger for you all. See what I decide next week.

Well, I've got to moving on. See you next week.
