01 | 28 | 09 > ON A WEDNESDAY, I'M WORKING UPDATING NERFECT

Okay, so technically, I tend to wrap up these updates on Tuesday night, but I'm totally aiming to have stuff updated by the time all you fellow working stiffs stumble into your respective offices Wednesday morning. There was a time that I'd be working up and beyond midnight, but lately, I've been attempting to get things done earlier with all this and into bed a bit sooner.

Lately, when I'm able to squeeze it in, I've been working on pieces for shows in spring. Last week, I posted some shots of this work on my presence on Flickr, but I've managed to get these shots up here on Nerfect. They've joined the ranks of the Painted Miscellanea, and can be seen here.

I've also been keeping up with my 4x6x365 '09 series. Well, that is pretty much a given ain't it? There latest group can been seen starting with this one here.

The Picture of The Week and Link of The Week have also been updated. As you might imagine, I haven't had a whole lot of free time lately, but I managed to upkeep these features.

Before I sign off, I'd like to give a big "Howdy" out all my old amigos whom have looked me up on Facebook lately. It is really great to hear from you folks. It is so very easy to loose track of people sometimes, so it is really cool to get back in touch with you all.

Well, that is it for this week. Drop back next Wednesday for more Nerfection. Later skaters.

| 21 | 09 > GET DOWN WITH YOUR FUNKY UPDATES

The last few days have been rough on me. I've had a few late nights at my day job, always racing from the moment I step in the door to the moment I stumble out. I work on an automatic level now, there is neither time nor energy to expend on creativity, so this makes my personal work that much more important to me.

I truly feel like I'm on a roll with my artwork lately, and am moving into interesting territories for me. For once in a very, very long time, I've begun to work in a very loose and free way that, while I'm doing it, is very pleasurable. Very few things lately have been pleasurable for me, and it is really a shame I don't have more time to dedicate to this work.

The curious amongst you, might want to go check out some pictures of my latest paintings on Flickr. I will eventually post shots of these paintings here on Nerfect, but I just haven't had the chance to rig it lately.

I have been able to keep up with my daily drawing project, 4x6x365 '09. I've fought the frustration and exhaustion in order to get a few out, but I've seemed to manage them pretty well. You can see the latest additions to the project here.

I have also posted a new Picture of The Week and Link of The Week. Take a peek at them when you have some time.

Well, that it for me this time. I've got to go pass out. Take it easy.

| 14 | 09 > I REALLY WISH I KNEW MORE GERMAN

As I write this, the German hits of France Gall are playing in the subterranean headquarters of Nerfect Worldwide Limited. The lady really knows how to swing out in Deutsch. Well, at least that is what I think. Maybe if I knew more German, I wouldn't appreciate her work as much. Life is sometimes funny in that way, Schnuckiputzi.

Anyway, welcome to this week's updates. I'm Mr. Walters and other than being found of decades old European pop music, I draw pictures every single day. I've been doing it since aught five, and every week (unless otherwise noted) I post the past seven days' worth of drawings. This year the project goes by the street name of 4x6x365 '09, and you can see the latest drawings beginning with the first of the new set right here.

Recently, I've also been painting a bit more. I don't get enough quality time as I would really like to dedicate to it, but I make do with what scraps of time that I can shake loose. I don't have any new, finished works to show off this week, but in the Picture of The Week, I took a shot of some of the work I've been doing.

I also haven't had as much time to check out things online lately, but I've managed to post a new Link of The Week. If you know of something that I should check out, please feel free to drop me a line.

Before I sign off, I'd like to mention Jason Robert Bell's show, which will be up at the Thomas Robertello Gallery until February 21. It is a really solid showing from Mr. Bell, and the pieces really must be appreciated in person. There are some interesting elements of layering and texture on very intimate scales that really add another level to the work. If you're in Chicago, you really should check it out.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to make it down to Lafayette, Louisiana for Heidi Cody's show
Suggested Retail Value, but I encourage everyone in that part of the world to check her exhibition out. It runs until February 28.

Well, that is all for now. I got a few little things to do before I can loaf off a bit, so I better get rolling. Take care of yourself, stay Nerfect and I'll see you back here next week.

| 07 | 09 > AUGHT NINE IS GOING TO BE SUPER FINE

Here we are again. Yes, if it is a Wednesday, then Nerfect.com has been updated. Mark it on your calendar and tell you friends, I update this site every week.

If you visited the site last week, you read of how that even though it was the last day of the year, I would not be posting the last of the 4x6x366 '08 drawings. This was due to the way I do my daily drawings and when I update this site. Scheduling dictates everything in a way. Well, it took a week, but here is that last drawing of aught eight.

With that out of the way, let's move forward with my latest project, 4x6x365 '09. I have just dipped my toe artistically into this new year, and you can see the results starting with this drawing right here.

I've also been trying to more large-scale work lately. Well, larger than four by six inches anyway. This week, I've posted a new painting, Magic Duckie Visits The Mountains. It's in the Painted Miscellanea section, and hopefully it won't be too long until it is joined by more paintings.

Also, regular features Picture of The Week and Link of The Week have been updated. Go check them out when you have a chance.

If it is Wednesday when you read this, you might want to go check out an interview with me, Mr. Walters, at What to Wear During an Orange Alert. I'll be their Artist of The Week and I was very happy to answer their questions, and would like to think it would provide a bit of insight into how I work.

As it opens this Friday, here is a final reminder to see Mr. Jason R. Bell's show at the Thomas Robertello Gallery in Chicago. It runs from January 9 to February 21 and if you're in Chicago then, you really have no reason not to go. It should be very interesting.

Also opening this weekend in Lafayette, Louisianna is a showing of the work of Heidi Cody. The exhibit is called "Suggested Retail Value" and it is at the Acadiana Center for The Arts. It will run from January 10 until February 28, aso go check it out.

I see by the clock on the wall that it is time to wrap things up, so I'll sign off and I'll look forward to seeing you all back here next Wednesday. Keep on rockin'.
