02 | 27 | 08 > BURNING THE UPDATES AT BOTH ENDS

You know the more tired and exhausted I am when I try to write these brief, weekly summaries of what has been updated here on the site, the more scatter-brained I am. I'll sit down to type, and either I'll get up a bunch of times to do any number of things I've been putting off lately, or I'll start to draft a brief essay about something like how I got a bag of Lando action figures on an online auction, and now I'm serious wondering what to do with them. I'm a complete mess when I'm wiped out.

The last few weeks have been really busy at my day gig, and it seems like no matter hard I try, I can't seem to keep up with everything. I'm tired, my back hurts, my memory is starting to go, and as far as I can tell, there is no end to this breakneck pace in sight.

Where was I going with all this? I'm not sure exactly. You don't want to read about this stuff. You folks know what it is like to put in long hours and kind of loose it a little from the exhaustion and pain. You don't need me to go on about it. Plus, I just zoned out for about three minutes at the end of the second paragraph, and that seems like a sign that I should move along with this.

As pressed for time as I am these days, I have been able to squeeze in some drawing time. A day I don't draw a piece for my 4x6x366 '08 project is a day I don't feel whole, so I make it a point to sit down for a while and put pen to paper. The latest group of drawings can be seen starting with this one right here.

Finally, I've also managed to update the Picture of The Week and Link of The Week. It was a bit rougher than usual to find the time and to be focused enough to update this week, but I got it taken care of. Huzzah!

02 | 20 | 08 > I WISH I COULD WEAR WESTERN SHIRTS ALL THE TIME

Maybe it is because Mrs. Walters and I spent the weekend down in Nashville, but I definitely feel like my life would be so much better if I could wear western shirts all the time. Unfortunately, when I give it some thought, I'd probably be given a bunch of crap for it and expected to be able to play guitar at a moment's notice. It seems like more trouble than its worth. Life just isn't fair.

You know I could probably go on forever about this, and I'll probably stay up late looking for western shirts online, but let's move on shall we. Let me tell you what has been updated this week.

First off, as always, I have posted a new set of my daily drawings. My 4x6x366 '08 project is shaping up quite nicely. You can review this week's offering starting with this very drawing and then moving along.

I've also updated the Picture of The Week and Link of The Week, so make sure to check those features out when you get the chance.

By the way, I'd like to thank all you fine patrons of the arts who have bought various pieces of artwork from my Etsy store. I hope all your pieces make it to all of you and bring you years of entertainment. The experience has been very positive for me and I'll probably put more things up now and again.

I'd also like to plug my pal, stencil artist extraordinaire, Peat Wolaeger's upcoming release party and exhibit March 8 at Club Six in San Francisco. Mr. Wolaeger designed one of the Green Label Art bottles for Mountain Dew, and has invited various artists, including myself, to collaborate with him on a series of luchadore paintings. If you're in San Francisco around this time, you might want to check it out. I know I will be there.

While I'm giving out the plugs, I'd like to take a moment to sing the praises of a talented trio of musicians I saw playing on the streets of Nashville. They go by the name of The Howling Brothers and their rough and ready take on bluegrass and old time music has me hooked. If you get the chance to hear them please take advantage of it.

Well, that is it for this week. Take it easy and stay Nerfect.

| 13 | 08 > IF ONLY I COULD USE MY POWERS FOR GOOD

As I write this I have recently returned home from a long day and night at work, and despite the overwhelming urge to just fall out of my chair and pass out on the floor, I felt it was important to update this website, a record of my personal creative endeavors because for me, these silly projects bring me happiness. Yes, it has been a long, frustrating and uncreative week at the job, but I'll be damned if that keeps me from enjoying myself when I shuffle home.

A few late nights here and there have made it difficult to squeeze in the quality drawing time that I enjoy, but I've managed to keep up with my daily drawing series, 4x6x366 '08. I now invite you to witness the results of this daily ritual. The first of the new collection can be seen here.

The Picture of The Week and Link of The Week have also been updated, and I think you might enjoy checking them out. Yes, I do know you that well.

It is no secret that the portfolio sections of this website are pitifully out-of-date, and one day when I get the chance, I'll bring everyone up to date on my skills in these areas. In an effort to do this, I have added a series of recent pieces to my Painted Miscellanea section. The newest additions start with a certain customized rabbit-esque toy and move on from there.

I rediscovered a lot of these pieces as I have been attempting to clean up my studio space and make a bit more suited for the production of artwork. Seeing as many were hidden away for so long, I've decided to clean out the archives a bit. There is no point to squirreling away pieces that should be out in the world being enjoyed by fine individuals like yourselves. Yes, I'm selling original Mr. Walters' artworks over at a shop I set up at Etsy, and (no pressure at all here) they are priced to move. My prices are so low, people think I'm nuts.

Speaking of Nerfect things to purchase (seriously no pressure) this past weekend Broken Cherry Boutique in Chicago became the latest shop to stock their fine shelves with my oddball wares. If you rock or need a gift for someone who rocks, you need to head on over to the awesome Broken Cherry Boutique.

Well, that is about all I can type right now, so I'll be taking off. Keep it Nerfect y'all.

| 05 | 08 > I SHOT J.R.

I just got back from a business trip to Dallas. I wasn't sure what I was expecting from Texas and I spent most of my time in rooms and buildings that could've been anywhere in the world, so I'm left feeling a bit odd. I know I went somewhere, but I'm not sure where. I guess I was expecting more cowboy hats.

Knowing that I had this trip ahead of me, I had to work on these updates a bit earlier than usual, and now, I'm glad I went ahead and did that. I'm back in the Midwest and wiped out.

One of the updates I worked on was my daily drawing series, 4x6x366 '08. You can observe the lovely array of drawings I prepared for you starting with the first of the series right here.

I've also updated the Picture of The Week and Link of The Week. Please check those out when you get the chance.

Well, that is it for now. Thanks for stopping by.
