03 | 25 | 09 > SATURDAY! SATURDAY! SATURDAY! ART SHOW! ART SHOW! ARTSHOW!
Are you ready to come out and see my work in a group show at Mostly Gallery in Chicago? If you're in town, I'm sure you have your calendar marked and will be there. That is very good. You people are awesome. If you're from out of town, if you haven't done so, you still have a couple days to get here for it. Either way, you'll need the details.
The show is going by the name "Poop Yer Nerfect Pants" and features work by Elisa Harkins (a.k.a. Pooper), Pants Laroo and yours truly. The opening is THIS SATURDAY, March 28 from 7-11pm at Mostly Gallery. The gallery is located at 1619 W. Julian #1, Chicago, Illinois in Chicago's Wicker Park area. Dig their site for more details.
There are going to be snacks, drinks and music from DJs Justin Reed and Jordan Fields along with the fantastic artwork, so swing on by and take it all in. After the opening, the show will be up for a month and is viewable by appointment only.
In other news, the Sheriff Peanut website has been updated to include the new artist series of infant onesies, which mine is the first. Hooray! Go check it out, and if you have a baby or know of one that has been crawling around in the buff, go order a Magic Duckie onesie right now!
If my life weren't busy enough right now, I have managed somehow to keep up with my 4x6x365 '09 drawings. It has been difficult lately to find any spare time when I'm awake, but what time I've managed to wrestle free has been used for these drawings. You can review the latest batch starting with this gem here.
I've also posted a new Link of The Week and Picture of The Week, so please feel free to examine these when you get the chance.
Well, I've got to get rolling. I've got about two more hours worth of work to do before I can curl up in a ball and collapse for the night. Take care of yourselves and keep it Nerfect y'all!
03 | 18 | 09 > HERE ARE SOME INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT ME
1. Mr. Walters personally updates this site each and every week (unless otherwise noted.) Stop by every Wednesday for more Nerfect fun.
2. If I ever had to take a stage name, it would have to be "Ron Dickles."
3.You can finally order our popular t-shirts from Nerfect.com. We have two currently in stock, Diabolical Hot Dog With Switchblade and Nice Trick. It took us a while, but we have them in stock, so order yours today!
4. I am lactose intolerant. Sorry.
5. I' ve also teamed-up with Sheriff Peanut to create the Magic Duckie onsie. If you have a baby or you are an infant, you should probably order one of these right away.
6. I have been drawing pictures for each and every day of the week going on five years now. The latest series is called 4x6x365 ' 09, and guess who just added seven new drawings to the collection? Yes, that' s right, me! You can see the latest pieces starting with this one.
7. I get about five hours of sleep a night. Well, if I' m lucky.
8. Every week, I share a photograph I' ve taken during my journeys, average and other wise. You might get a deeper insight into the world of Mr. Walters in a feature known as Picture of The Week.
9. Speaking of photographs, I also have a bunch up on Flickr. You can see my latest work (that I haven' t been able to get up on this site yet) and shots from recent travels.
10. I also send everyone away from this site for some unknown reason with our Link of The Week feature.
11. Hey! I' m in a group art show called Poop Yer Nerfect Pants at Mostly Gallery, Saturday, March 28 from 7 - 11pm. The gallery is located at 1619 W. Julian #1, Chicago, Illinois. After March 28, the show is by appointment only.
12. I have a small collection of jaw harps. I currently own four.
13. I also have a solo show at Fly Bird which runs Saturday, April 25 to Sunday, May 24. There is an opening reception on April 25 from 7-10pm. Fly Bird is located at 719 Lake St., Oak Park, Illinois.
14. I own my own gorilla suit.
15. It has come to my attention that I' m a pretty lousy self-promoter. Unless you just stumble across this site, how are you going to know what is going on in the world of Nerfect? Well, if it is a big thing like a new t-shirt or art show, I will spread the word via my MySpace and Facebook profiles. I' m also on LinkedIn and on Twitter, but I' m not sure how much promoting I' ll be doing there.
Well, that is all I want to share right now. Swing back by next Wednesday for more great stuff, and if you can make it, please head out to Poop Yer Nerfect Pants next Saturday. See you later.
03 | 11 | 09 > WHO PUT THE FUNK IN MY UPDATES?
You know, I have found that is really hard to write anything when Parliament's "Flashlight" is playing. I was going to let it play out and try to write, but I got antsy and set it spinning again. Anyway, I'm going to try to clue you into what has been updated while Parliament is getting funky.
First off, I have added a septet of new drawings (which I draw daily) to my growing 4x6x365 '09 collection. Are the new drawings funky? Check them out for yourself starting with this one.
I've also updated the Picture of The Week and Link of The Week. Are they funky? Not as much as "Flashlight", but they're not too shabby.
Well, that is all I can manage. I've got to get up for the down stroke. See you next week.
03 | 11 | 09 > ARE YOU READY FOR THE INTERNET SWITCH TO ANALOG?
Ah, the woes of the old copy and paste. I had written a pretty good introduction for this once, but it never made it here. I copied everything but and pasted that incomplete update report here. Only when I was bug checking this week's updates did I notice. Oops! Oh well, how about we take a gander at what is new this time around.
You might have noticed the above image of our Diabolical Hot Dog patch. It's there because we just got a new batch of them in. They've been sold out for a while, but now they're back in stock. They sell out pretty quickly, so make sure to order yours soon.
Speaking of old things that are back in stock, I've put together a whole new batch of Nerfect Button & Sticker Fun Packs. I performed a bit of an update to the packaging, but the idea is basically still the same. You get 13 great stickers (a majority of which are our full-color, die-cut stickers) and 4 of our popular buttons all for under $13 U.S.
Besides all that, I have a whole new group of daily drawings for you to look at. See the latest of my 4x6x365 '09 pictures starting with this masterpiece.
I've also updated the Picture of The Week and Link of The Week, so make sure you check those out before you split. They're just sitting here waiting to show you what they've got.
Crack out your calendars, because I've got a lot of important show dates to give you.
First, I'd like to tell you all to go check out ST3NCIL over at the Rotofugi gallery in Chicago. I neglected to tell y'all about it last week, but I'm here now recommending that you go check out this group show of stencil graphiti artists, which my friend Peat Wollaeger has some pretty cool art in. The show runs through March 15, so if you can make it, go check it out.
Next, Mostly Gallery in Chicago has posted information about Poop Yer Nerfect Pants, a group show that I'll have work in starting March 28. I can't speak for the other artists, but I promise not to soil myself the opening night. I'll fire off more details as I get them.
Once again, I'll ask that you attend my solo show at Fly Bird in Oak Park starting April 25. The show will run from then until about a month later, you know, late May.
You know what else is happening in late may? On May 24 we'll be at the second Constructor craft fair at Fitzgerald's in lovely Berwyn, Illinois. We'll be selling a wide range of wares and original artwork, so come on out.
Well, that is about it for now. See you next week.
