04|25|05 LOOK OUT WORLD I'M FULL OF BEANS!
Life has been interesting as of late. I really can't go into too many details, but I can say that I am pretty busy. If I'm not hard at work at my "real job", I am drawing up a storm at home trying to get my story done for one of the next Caveman Robot books. It has been an exhausting few weeks, and it is strange to think that I have to go to work in order to relax a little.
I did manage to relax a little, and had a few people over Sunday which really helped to calm me down a bit. Anyone who knows me knows that I can never really fully relax. You can break boards on the knots in my upper back. It was good to put aside some time for peace and calm. Because I have a feeling that the next few weeks are going to be really trying on me, but enough about all of this. What is this a blog?
My current workload might have been increased, but I stil have managed to keep up with my 4x6x365 project. You can check out the new ones via this page. I've also managed to update the PICTURE OF THE WEEK and LINK OF THE WEEK.
Finally, I am happy to announce that there is now an Official Unicorn Turds Page! It will be interesting to if this is the end of the Unicorn Turd saga or just the beginning. Either way, it has been a fun ride.
04|18|05 WHAT'S NEW ?
Loads! That is right. I've got so much to share with you this week, so get comfy and check it all out!
First, like every week, I have added seven new drawings to the 4x6x365 gallery. After passing the one-hundred mark last week, I decided to break the thumbnails into seperate pages of one-hundred. From now until I hit the two-hundred mark, I'll be sending you to this page every week for the newest drawings. Not sure what this means? Don't worry, you'll figure it out.
Next, I've also updated the PICTURE OF THE WEEK and LINK OF THE WEEK. I even have a report regarding one of last week's links. In particular it was the BONUS LINK OF THE WEEK, which you may remember was for the Ebay listing of some rare Unicorn Turds.
Last week I was contacted by my friend, the skilled artist, Jason R. Bell in regards to these magical items he was selling and was trying to get the word out about. Well, the word got out and before Ebay shut down the auction (boo! hiss!) the bidding had passed $500! Ebay, the place where you can buy bootleg DVDs of the original Star Wars movies minus all the bad CGI and musical numbers, aura realignments, and human billboards, just didn't want the world to realize that things like Unicorn Turds existed... Jerks. You would think the story ends there, but it doesn't.
Before being taken down by Ebay, the Unicornn Turds started to be mentioned here and there on numerous blogs, and eventually ended up being mentioned in columnist, Dave Barry's blog. From there it spread like wildfire, and if you do a Google search on "Unicorn Turds" you'll find four pages of links, and none of them seem to have existed before this strange incident. If you'd like to learn more about the Unicorn Turds saga, you should check out the entry on the blog All Available Means of Persuasion. Even though it seems the author doesn't "get it" at first, he eventually digs deeper, does research and presents a good recap.
This week also saw the arrival of a package from Onsmith Jeremi. Inside were copies of "The Gocco Set" which is a box filled with 17 prints by 17 artists. Each artist did a piece using their Gocco machines, and one of them was yours truly. You might remember this picture of the week in which I comment on the project and my small contribution. It is so cool to see them all together. I am really pleased with how the project came out. Soon you'll be able to pick up a set from the Onsmith Comics site. When I found out when this happens, I will pass on the info.
Lastly, I'd like to throw out a couple shout outs if you don't mind. First, I'd like to thank my good pal Äna Reinhart for sending me a stack of 4" x 6" cards for my 4x 6x365 project and a pair of cool stuffed critters. I'd also like to wish the very best to our pal Kelly and Chris as they begin this wacky game we call marriage. I just got back from their wedding which took place in an old train station, which was nice because we just took the train right up to the place.
That is it for now folks. See you next time around.
04|11|05 ONE HUNDRED DOWN, TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY-FIVE TO GO
Yes folks, I can officially say it. Ready? I have completed one hundred drawings for my 4x6x365 project. Sure I know there is more than twice that much of a drawing a day yet to do, but I see this as a minor milestone. You can check out the newest ones, starting from ninety-four here. The whole process has been really interesting and some of the ideas and images I've explored have real potential for further work. I just know now that I can loaf off and keep it up.
I've also managed to update the PICTURE OF THE WEEK and LINK OF THE WEEK. I've even got a bonus LINK OF THE WEEK for you crazy kids. I must be high on the pride of a job well done.
Regular visitors might notice that I've spruced the old website up a bit. It's long overdue and it is a work in progress. I'm hoping to tweek a few more things here and there within the next few months, so pardon our dust... Ugh, I can't believe I just typed that. Would the words "Rock On!" help? Anyway, thanks for visiting and make sure to share us with all your friends.
04|04|05 ALMOST ONE HUNDRED
It just hit me midweek, I have almost hit the one-hundred mark with my 4x6x365 drawings. This week we're up to ninety-three, and the next, we'll be at the century. Not that I'm surprised that I've gotten this far, I planned the whole thing to be anything but a burden, but reaching one hundred pleases me very much. I hope you all have enjoyed them too. Wow, I'm a big softy. Anyway, see you at 200!
Aside from all that, I have also posted a new PICTURE OF THE WEEK and LINK OF THE WEEK. Please feel free to go check them out at your leisure. Until next time, take care.
