04 | 30 | 08 > LET'S KEEP THIS NICE AND FRIENDLY
Welcome once again to Nerfect.com. As like on every Wednesday I, Mr. Walters update the website with all manner of new content and use this time to tell you about anything new and notable that I'm doing. Let's get on with it!
It wouldn't be Wednesday without an update to my daily drawing series, 4x6x366 '08. I've posted the lot of drawings I've done since last Wednesday, and if you want to check out the new set, click here to check out the first of the new bunch.
Do you know what else has been updated? Yes, that's right, Picture of The Week and Link of The Week, so please go give them some love when you get the chance.
Hey Diabolical Hot Dog fans, do you want to see something cool? If you do, click here to check out the brand new Diabolical Hot Dog embroidered patch! It's diabolically cool and available for purchase right now. My pals over at BrokenCherry helped me put it out and until I get an ordering page set up here on Nerfect, you should visit their online shop to order yours right away.
By the way, Have you marked your calendars for Constructor yet? If you're in the Berwyn area Sunday, May 25th, you should check out collection of kick-ass crafters including the ol' Nerfect gang. We'll be there selling all sorts of Nerfect wares and original artwork, so mark that calendar and come on out.
04 | 23 | 08 > SLEEVES ROLLED UP. KNUCKLES CRACKED. LET'S GET TO WORK.
Now, by "work", I mean the effort of getting this website updated and to draft this nice note telling you all about the new additions. To call this “work” is really not that fair really. I probably should have said something to the extent of, “Let's get to pleasure.” Anyway, here is what is new this week.
First off, I have updated 4x6x366 '08, my daily drawing series, with a small stack of new pieces. You can see the new batch by witnessing the first of the new clump and moving on.
I've also had a few free moments to update the Picture of The Week and Link of The Week. Please do me the pleasure of a review of these two features.
I hope you enjoy everything. Take care and stay Nerfect, y'all!
04 | 16 | 08 > NERFECT SURF AND UPDATE REPORT
This is Mr. Walters of the Berwyn Surf Club and Nerfect.com with the Nerfect Surf and Update Report for Wednesday, April 16, 2008. The waves here at Nerfect headquaters are cresting at zero feet and the weather is Midwesty at best.
Daily drawings in my 4x6x366 '08 series have increased by 6 to 7 drawings, and the first of which can be seen here. Please be advised that the 100 drawing mark for this year has been surpassed and the daily drawings are predicted to continue until the end of the year.
There is also an update warning that new entries of Picture of The Week and Link of The Week have been spotted on the website this week. Usual viewing precautions are recommended.
Friends of Mr. Walters should also note that there will be a Nerfect table at Constructor on Sunday, May 25, 2008. All manner of Nerfect wares will be on sale and interested parties should keep checking out the Constructor site and MySpace page for details.
There has also been a sighting of Mr. Walters' enormous, masked head in the Green Label Art video from Peat Wollaeger's Luchador Collab-o-mask event. If you see Mr. Walters' large head in person, please keep a safe distance as you might get pulled into its gravitational pull.
That is all for this week's report. Surf safe.
04 | 09 | 08 > IT'S ALL ABOUT THE PANTS
Lately, I've been attempting to live a more healthy life. I've been keeping an eye on what I eat and had even thought about taking up running. I think I could deal with that odd sensation of running while no one else is and most of the trauma of high school gym class has worked itself out, but there is one thing keeping me from running. The pants.
From what I understand, it is a good idea to wear pants designed in some way for the actual activity of running. I have never seen anyone running for exercise in overalls or jeans. They are usually wearing either some really tight, nothing left to the imagination pants or something akin to pajama bottoms, and I just can't bring myself to buy either one of these two kinds of pants, let alone run around my block in them.
I'm not sure why exactly I'm mentioning this. It really has nothing with this website or my art really, but as I sat down to type a description of this week's updates, these thoughts just flowed out. It is probably something I should watch and try to keep to a minimum or the next thing you know I'll writing about how much I like waffle fries or the stupidest movie I've cried during. Let's move on.
As for things I do in pretty normal pants, one of my favorites is drawing. Okay, I've drawn in some odd pants and rarely without from time to time, but that isn't the point. Every single day, rain or shine, home or away, I sit down and draw a picture and every week I post the pictures on this very website. The project is called "4 x 6 x 366 '08" and this is my fourth year doing these daily drawings. You can see the latest collection starting with this drawing right here.
I've also put up a new Picture of The Week, which is a photographic image rather than a drawn one. This week I'm giving you all a peek at some work in progress, and hopefully, I'll be able to share the finished work with you soon.
There is also a new Link of The Week posted just for you. I know leaving Nerfect might seem strange and unnatural for you, we encourage you to take a peek at what I came across this week online.
Before I sign off this week, I want to mention a few things. First, Peat Wollaeger, the artist I collaborated with on a piece for a show in San Francisco a while back, has posted pictures of all the pieces (mine included) on Flickr. You can also have a look at the work and purchase some if a piece or two tickle your fancy in his online store.
Also, the International Society of Nerfect will be exhibiting our wares, including things not even I know about yet, at the Constructor Craft Fair Sunday, May 25 at Fitzgerald's in lovely Berwyn, Illinois. I will post more details as the show gets closer, but please mark that calendar now.
Well, that is pretty much all I have to say right now. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy the new stuff and see you next Wednesday. Take care and keep it Nerfect y'all.
04 | 02 | 08 > ONCE UPON A TIME THERE WAS A WEBSITE CALLED NERFECT.COM
It lived in the enchanted realm called "the internut" or something like that. A kindly, old artist named Mr. Walters built this website and tried his best to keep it in fine working order. This artist also enjoyed drawing things everyday like birds wearing masks, miscellaneous creatures in their underpants and the occasional duck in a crown.
Every Wednesday, Mr. Walters would take these drawings and put them on the website for all the world to see. He called this mass of drawings "4x6x366 '08" for some unknown reason, and he often encouraged visitors to the website to click here to see the first of the new series of drawings. I don't have to tell you that this kind of behavior aroused suspicion in the neighbors.
He also posts pictures that he takes with his magic camera every week as well. Nothing naughty (well, not too naughty), just images from his daily life, art making and travels. He adds a new picture to the growing collection every week. Mr. Walters calls this the "Picture of The Week" and that seems to make him happy, so please don't complain.
Another thing that is updated weekly is a feature called "Link of The Week" and it is a mystic portal to other websites that Mr. Walters has come across and found interesting. Being a very generous soul, the creepy artist shares these discoveries, along with all the artwork displayed on Nerfect.com openly. He might make your skin crawl a bit, but you have to admit he is nice.
Well, that is all the story time we have for today. Please come back next week for more.
