05 | 28 | 08 > YOUR NUMBER ONE SOURCE FOR NERFECTION

Hello and welcome to Nerfect.com, the official website of me, Mr. Walters. You'll find all manner of things I've made documented here, and every Wednesday I put more stuff up on this website. What have I added this week?

For the last few years, I have been creating a drawing on a 4" x 6" piece of card and posting the results in a growing series of galleries here weekly. This year the project is going by the name 4x6x366 '08 and you can see the latest drawings simply by clicking here.

Every week I also post one of the many pictures I snap with my handy camera in a feature called, oddly enough, Picture of The Week. These shots give you a glimpse into my process, my personal work, my travels, and so on.

I also like to share things I've stumbled across online in a thing I call Link of The Week. From the inspiring to the just plain odd, I like to open up people to new things out there online.

A few of you reading this might have met Mrs. Walters and I this past weekend at the Constructor Craft Fair. It was a really fun show, lots of folks came out and we did really well. I'd like to personally thank everyone who came out and gave their support not only to Nerfect, but to entire enterprise. There were a lot of talented artists and craftspeople out there trying to get exposure for their work and the great show out of shoppers was fantastic.

We sold all manner of items from our popular stickers and buttons to our new embroidered Diabolical Hot Dog patch to a couple new t-shirt designs. We had a Diabolical Hot Dog and pug balancing a banana on his head on shirts for the people. I tried to get some shots up, but everything I took was a bit off and didn't show the shirts off well, so I'll have to work something up later.

I did get some decent pictures of some of the toys I had sewn up for the show. Check out Naughty Banana, Space Cyclops Jr. and Yorick Jr. in the Nerfect Toy Box section. I'm not quite sure what will happen to the surplus toys left over from the show. I might put them up on the Nerfect Etsy shop, but if you're interested in getting one, please drop me an e-mail and I'll let you know what is available.

I also had a selection of small, original paintings that did well at the show. I will try to get pictures of them up in the Painted Miscellanea section for everyone to enjoy soon, as well as maybe putting a couple pieces up for sale. Keep checking back in with Nerfect.com for details when all this happens.

Well, I think that is all I have for you all this time around. Have a pleasant rest of the week and keep Nerfect.

| 26 | 08 > CONSTRUCTOR!

Constructor went really well for us yesterday. We met a lot of great people and had a fun time. The only sad thing was that we ran out on a few certain sizes of our new t-shirts we had at the show, so if you've come to this site because of that, please drop us an e-mail and let us know who you are and what sizes and designs you were interested in. We're organizing things for a couple other shows, so we'll be reprinting shirts soon and will contact you when the shirts are freshly printed.

We'll probably be putting up a few, one-of-a-kind things up on our Etsy shop soon, so please keep checking the site out for when that happens. Most of all, I'd like to thank everyone who came out to support local artists and craftspeople, all the great vendors, Fitzgerald's which kept us sheltered, Wishbone for the yummy bean cakes and sweet tea, and Norah and Julia for putting the whole thing together. It was a blast!

| 21 | 08 > I KNOW A MAN WITH A WOODEN LEG NAMED "SMITH"

Often when I sit down to write I find this part the most troublesome. By this part, I mean the beginning of the piece. I can't tell you how many times I've written and rewritten these things, all because I want a good, strong, vaudeville-type opening. Come in strong and leave strong. That is the way to keep people coming back.

Looking back at what I just wrote, I think I'm failing in this. I'm not a good opener. I really should have started with a joke, a dirty one. My dancing really doesn't come through that well in my writing and I'm really hoping the rest of my act does a bit better than this. Fingers crossed.

As every week at this time, I have updated my 4x6x366 '08 project. I've draw a picture every day since the last weekly update and now I've posted seven new artworks for your pleasure. You can see the first of the new set by clicking here. What are you waiting for? Clickety clickety!

It wouldn't be a Wednesday if I didn't also update the Link of The Week and Picture of The Week. Well, I guess I could start updating the site for some other day that Wednesday, so then it wouldn't really be Wednesday. Now to think of it, I often update this site on Tuesday night for Wednesday, but as it is usually a couple hours before midnight, I just assume that this is okay. Anyway, enjoy the new Link of The Week and Picture of The Week.

Finally, once again, I'd like to remind you all of Constructor which is coming up THIS WEEKEND! I personally invite you to come on out to Fitzgerald's in lovely Berwyn, Illinois on Sunday, May 25 from 12pm-8pm and to check it all out. Various representatives of Nerfect, including myself, will be there selling all manner of ephemera. From buttons, stickers and t-shirts to stuffed toys and original art, we'll have a full table. Mrs. Walters is even planning some awesome sweet treats, so make sure to stop on by.

Well, I've got to get back to finishing a few things for the fair, so I'll sign off for now. Have a splendid rest of the week, see you at Constructor and keep it Nerfect!

By the way, as for the man with the wooden leg named "Smith." No, I'm not sure how he lost his real leg. It is funny that has never come up in conversation.

| 14 | 08 > WHERE AM I? THE UPDATES.

It has been a pretty rough couple weeks for me. My day gig has been pretty demanding and took up a lot of the time I should have been working on stuff for Constructor, a piece of mine went missing en route to a show in France and things have been pretty frustrating in general. I will not go on about it, and would like to put all this unpleasantness behind me. Let's move on.

As little free time as I had to work on my 4x6x366 '08 daily drawings, I did manage to get my quota done. I might have done a couple a day here and there to make up for a few of those lost nights, but they are here for your enjoyment. Hopefully, you'll agree that this latest batch is a good set of drawings. Take a look at them starting with this one.

I have also posted a new Picture of The Week and Link of The Week for you "looking at" pleasure. Check them out when you get the chance.

Do I even have to tell you about Constructor again? You're totally coming, right? Good, that is what I thought. See you there, and please do not be shy about asking for those free awkward hugs from me. I've totally been practicing.

Well, that is it for this time around. See you around.

| 07 | 08 > STOP, UPDATE AND LISTEN

Mr. Walters is back with my brand new inventions. Okay, so maybe "inventions" isn't exactly the right word, but I've updated this site and am excited to let you all know what is new and notable this week.

First off, as you can see from the image above, we have a new Diabolical Hot Dog product. Yes, the criminal mastermind in a steamed bun is now available in embroidered patch form. They are pretty diabolical, so make sure to order your very own immediately!

Next, the march of progress on my 4x6x366 '08 daily drawing project continues. It has been a bit tough for me to find some quiet time to sit down and draw lately, but I managed to keep things rolling somehow. Check out the latest group starting with this piece right here.

I have also updated the Picture of The Week and Link of The Week, so please make sure to enjoy those other regular features. This week's picture shows off some of my latest artistic experiments, which you could own. How is this possible? Constructor of course!

Yes, once again, I'm putting the word out about the Constructor craft fair that I'll be at Sunday, May 25 from noon to eight selling all manner of Nerfect products and original art. It is a good chance to come out to exotic Berwyn, Illinois and meet me and obtain some fine handcrafted objet d'art. Wishbone is also next door and fantastic. What else do I need to say in order to get you all to come out? Okay, how about this? Free awkward hugs for anyone who comes out. No purchase necessary, just come up to the Nerfect booth and request a free awkward hug from Mr. Walters.

Well, that is officially that for this time around. Enjoy the latest updates and make sure to come by next week. Take care and keep it Nerfect.
