06 | 24 | 09 > SUNSHINE UPDATES

This past weekend Mrs. Walters and I went down to South Florida to visit with my father, Mr. Walters. While summer has taken its sweet time getting to Chicago, the hot weather has been in full effect down south for quite some time. I had forgotten what real heat felt like.

Ages ago, I lived down in Florida. I attended middle and high school there and am amazed that I survived the climate down there. These days I like my climates a bit more temperate than we experienced down there, but the good thing about Florida is that an air-conditioned building is never too far away.

Heat aside, we really enjoyed ourselves. My father's new place is five short blocks away from the beach and the Atlantic Ocean. There were some great examples of mid-century modern beach architecture still in use and the lush vegetation was lovely.

Now, we've returned home to a bit more manageable summer, and to bring you the weekly updates.

06 | 17 | 09 > I REALLY DON'T WANT TO IRON THOSE SHIRTS TONIGHT

I really have iron some shirts, but I really don't want to. Why didn't I wish for self-ironing shirts when I got those wishes from that magic fish I caught? I really didn't think things through. That plate of tater tots and that Beverly Hillbillies marathon are long gone and I have nothing to show for it. Oh yes, and I still have a stack of shirts to iron. Damn you magic fish!

Anyway, welcome to Nerfect.com, the official website of sideburned, gentleman artist Mr. Walters. I have shirts to iron as well as updates to share with you. Let's get started!

First, we have a new batch of drawings for my 4x6x365 '09 project. There are seven of them and the first of the new batch can be seen right here. I hope my crude illustrations bring you pleasure.

Next, I have updated the Picture of The Week. This is not a picture drawn, but a picture taken. I'm no Ansel Adams, but I seem to be able to point my camera in a general direction and push a button. Enjoy the heck out of it.

Also, the Link of The Week, that rascal of the weekly updates has also been updated. When you're ready to leave this magical, internetty destination why not take off to the scenic Link of The Week?

Finally, if you're going to the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago July 17-19, make sure to stop by the Coterie show. It features all manner of independent, local makers of things and a certain Mr. Walters. That guy will be selling the t-shirts he keeps forgetting to post up on this site as well as stickers and buttons, so come check it out.

06 | 03 | 09 > GET OUT OF MY DREAMS AND INTO MY UPDATES

I think I have something in my eye. It has been bugging me all day, but I know that if I get up from the electro-composition terminal to take care of it, I might get into something else and forget that I was working on this. This is why I'm now typing with one eye open, and thinking that I should get on and tell you what is new this week.

First off, I have posted a new group of drawings in my 4x6x365 '09 series. Yes, another week's worth of scrawlings is now available for your enjoyment or sighs of disapproval. The latest magic (patent-pending) starts here.

I've also managed avoid obsessing about slot cars long enough to post a new Picture of The Week and a pleasurable new Link of The Week. I invite you to give those a spin.

Unfortunately, I was unable to get my latest t-shirt designs up on this site, but am shooting to get them up very soon. Too many things came up in the past few days. Sigh, and not one of them was a tater-tot-eating contest.
