07|25|05 HONEY, YOU KNOW I WASN'T MADE FOR THIS
The wife and I went over to our neighbors' house for a birthday celebration. I ate way too much and ending up outside in triple digit temperatures. I was definitely running far beyond my design specifications, so I've been pretty useless the rest of Sunday evening.
Luckily I had updated many of this site's files before heading out, so fear not, those weekly updates are up and ready to go! Futhermore, I'm back on my regular update schedule. Speaking of which, I've added five more 4x6x365 drawings to the ol' gallery. Last update, I got past the two-hundred mark, so I've started a new page for numbers 201 and up.
I've also updated the PICTURE OF THE WEEK (featuring a shot from the 2005 San Diego International Comic Convention) and LINK OF THE WEEK, (related to the character I was out there to promote, Caveman Robot!) By the way, if you're reading this site and haven't order the latest books yet, go do so now! Don't worry, this site will be here when you get back.
07|20|05 I TOLD YOU I'D BE LATE WITH THE UPDATES
Well, Mr. Walters is back in town and has updated the old website here. Comic Con went well, I had some fun, and some great deals were made. I don't want to jinx any of them, so I'll zip my lips for now. My only real regret is that I really didn't have any new work of my own to show off, but maybe next year. I come back from these things jazzed to do work, and the trick is to actually apply that interest to a project or two, so that things get done.
I'll try to get pictures up soon, and maybe share a few of my adventures, but time and energy really don't permit right now. Anyone out there who has worked any kind of convention knows how I'm feeling right now, and I will need a while to recover fully.
What I have been able to accomplish, is that I have finally made it to the two-hundred mark in my 4x6x365 project. You can check out the newest drawings starting here.
I was also able to update the PICTURE OF THE WEEK and LINK OF THE WEEK, so check it out!
07|11|05 THE BENADRYL KNOCKED ME OUT GOOD
I usually aim to update this website on Sunday night, but after a nasty allergy attack, the wife gave me some Benadryl, and KAZONK! I was out! I felt like Batman whenever some villain would gas Robin and him, and he would mumble a few words and drop to the floor, but without the purple smoke. Anyway, my apologies to the four or five people who actually read this stuff every week.
I must also apologize to anyone viewing this site in the latest version of Internet Explorer. I've tried my best to build a site that looks and functions well, and I'm happy to say for most of the other browsers, Nerfect looks swanky. I've gone through this before when all the browsers seemed to release their upgrades around the same time, but I think it was Netscape that made this site look like junk. I'll have to have to boys down in research look into it. Until then, try using Netscape, Safari or Krebbrowse to view this site and life should be Nerfect once more.
Now if you think that after missing my usual Sunday night updates, I will be on the ball for next week... Don't count on it. Actually, I will be late in updating next week too. Now, this is only because I will be at the 2005 San Diego International Comic Convention (a.k.a. Geek Mecca) where I'll be one of those souls manning the Caveman Robot booth. Hoorah! If any of you reading this wil be there, come look us up in booth 4917 on aisle 4900... Oh, and buy some comics or bring me a soda or something. Anyway, it should be fun and I'll be keeping up with my 4x6x365 project, and will update the site again as soon as possible when I get back.
Talking about my 4x6x365 project, I've totally added a lump of new drawings to the gallery, and am slowly creeping up on the two-hundred mark. Be warned, I kind of had a lousy week, so some of the drawings suffer from being drawn by ol' sour guts. To see the first of the latest batch go here.
If that wasn't enough, I managed to beat the last bit of Benadryl out of my system long enough to update the PICTURE OF THE WEEK and LINK OF THE WEEK. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to pack.
07|06|05 Q - WHAT IS WITH THE DELAY?
A - I HAD TO SPLIT TOWN.
A tirp was planned down to Atlanta for the Fourth of July weekend. Originally, I was going to meet Mrs. Walters as she returned from the John C. Campbell Folk School (where she made a mountain banjo) and to visit my family, but plans change. My brother got married with little warning to us, so a wedding reception with even more family and things to get done was added to the equation. I enjoyed seeing everyone and meeting the new Mrs. Walters, but I must admit the whole experience was exhausting and played havoc with my usual schedule.
I know it is later than usual, but I have finally managed to make my weekly updates here on Nerfect. The 4x6x365 gallery is busting at the seams with new drawings, so go check them out. I've also managed to update the PICTURE OF THE WEEK and LINK OF THE WEEK.
I never really foresee these delays. I try to plan for them, but all good plans can sometimes get caught up on logistic brambles. I'm hoping to be more "with it" when I'm out at the San Diego Comic Con (July 14-17), but I can see another delayed update around then. You'll just have to be patient with me.
Speaking of San Diego Comic Con, the reason I'm going out there is to promote the latest offerings from Caveman Robot. You may preorder the newest books at the Caveman Robot site right now!
Finally, I would like to turn you all on to Jason Robert Bell's latest Trashure, Mercury at The Crossroads. Mr. Bell creates fantastic sculptures and leaves them out in the world for folks to enjoy. Check out the Thashures page of his website for more information.
