10 | 23 | 06 > A GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL

As I write this, I am still recovering from our annual Halloween party. It is one event that we put a great deal of effort into and that we take pretty seriously. It is effort that is well received and we'd like to think everyone had a good timeÉ We know we did.

Mrs. Walters plays mandolin and many of those who attended the festivities the other night were her musician friends. As the night went on, several circles sprung up all over the house and there wasn't a place in the old manor that didn't resonate with old time and bluegrass music. No matter where you turned your head, there seemed to be a banjo.

It wasn't all about the music, we had a hearty spread put out, I put on some of my favorite b-movies and spun some funky tunes, and people seemed to be mixing and mingling pretty well. All and all, we think it went off pretty well, but all that fun sure was exhausting in the end. We can't wait to do it next year.

As much as I wanted to take it easy the rest of the weekend, I knew that I had to get this website updated. What would Monday be like if I dropped the ball regarding my weekly updates?

If it is a new week that means that there is a fresh, new batch of 4x6x365 '06 drawings for you to look at. Shall we start with this handsome one right here? We shall? That's great!

There is also a new Picture of The Week and Link of The Week for you to enjoy as well. Wow! All treats and no tricks! You are so lucky.

Well, if you'll excuse me, I'll take my leave of you all now. Enjoy the updates and have a splendid Halloween this week!

| 23 | 06 > MY BACK IS KILLING ME

What is the best way to top off a generally crummy workweek? Why by spending most of the weekend trying to clean up your house and studio of course, silly! Now, I'm not just talking about scrubbing the toilet and vacuuming some floors, I'm talking about moving things around, cleaning out closets and trying to purge as much of your clutter as possible. Great stuff!

Of course this is a lie. The whole process has been anything, but great. As I write this, I know that I've done a lot, but it sure doesn't look like it in my studio. My back hurts and I'm pretty disgusted in myself for collecting all this junk.

If there is a good point to this, it is that I'm actually finding stuff to get rid of, and some delightful things (artwork included) to put up on Ebay in the next few weeks. If you'd like to own some ephemera from the House of Nerfect, keep checking in for those auction updates. I'm not interested in making a big score on this stuff, I just want to make sure that people who really appreciate it get it, so I'll be pricing this fantastic stuff to move.

Well, enough of that. Let's move onto what has been updated here on the website. First off, as usual, please check out the ever-growing 4x6x365 '06 series. The new batch of drawings start with this one.

I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone who sent me e-mails and posted comments on my MySpace blog about this daily drawing project. It was very interesting to see what people think of the experiment and where some of them would like to see the pieces go in the future. I encourage visitors to this site to give me feedback on the work. If you have comments or questions, please drop me a line.

I've also managed to update the Picture of The Week and Link of The Week, so please make sure to go check those features out. Well, I've got to run. I'll talk at you later.

| 16 | 06 > UPDATE MY SITE! UPDATE MY SITE! UPDATE MY SITE! OI! OI! OI!

That is right, I've been listening to The Business most of the weekend and I just feel a bit moreÉ What is the right way to say this? In your face? Loud? I'm not sure. Anyway, let's move on before I embarrass myself more.

For those of you new to the whole Nerfect experience, please take note that I update this website each and every week. Our regulars know that (unless otherwise alerted) every Monday they can check in and find new stuff from Mr. Walters and the House of Nerfect.

One of these features that I update weekly is my series of drawings that go by the 4x6x365 '06 handle. Since January 1, 2005, I've been doing a drawing every single day and posting the results every Monday. This week is no differentÉ Well, except for the drawings, they are always new and different. This week's set of drawings can be reviewed starting with last Monday's gem.

This week, I would like to add a little extra to the whole 4x6x365 '06 experience. Usually, it is a one-way kind of thing. I post the pictures and then you look at them. This time around I'd like to hear from you about them. Drop me an e-mail or log into my blog entry about them on MySpace and let's get a discussion about the work started. I will have an entry there regarding this. Believe it or not, I get very little feedback on these pieces, and I would like to know how they are playing out with the people. I'm also up to discussing my process too if you like, or if you just simply what to ask me, ÒWhat the heck are you thing, Mr. Walters?Ó If this is something you kids enjoy and if I get a good response to it, I will definitely keep it going.

Every week I also post one of my snapshots that I take in my Picture of The Week section. I like taking pictures and often use my camera to capture ideas and scene that I want to remember for later work. In this section, I've opened up my archive to the general publicÉ Hey! That's you!

Nerfect.com also has a regular feature called Link of The Week. Every week, I try to bring attention to a website that I've stumbled across or that someone has pointed me to during the week. I know it is a weird move to send people away from my website, but my mother raised me right and I like to share.

Finally, before I sign off, I'd like to with my friend Lisa the happiest of birthdays today. We met back in high school and were good friends, but over the years we lost track of each other. After thirteen years of being out of each other, I stumbled across her on MySpace a few months ago and since then, we've picked up the old friendship up from where we left off. We have a great pen pal type thing going on and it has been fantastic getting to know her again.

Well, that is about it for now. Don't forget to make your voice heard when it comes to my 4x6x365 '06 series, either by e-mail or by posting a comment on my MySpace blog, and please make sure to check back into this website next week. Until then, take care of yourself and stay Nerfect.

| 09 | 06 > THAT IS PROBABLY WHY I LOOK LIKE THIS

Maybe it is sad, but I've come to the conclusion that I can no longer rest. I always have something going on, a series of wild projects, and when I plot to take time off away from them there is this certain kind of tension built up within me. Even sleep is no release, but rather an inconvenient thing I have to attempt between rushing around.

However this past weekend I was able to slip away from all of this a couple times. A long walk or two with Mrs. Walters and our faithful pal Loki. Simple meals of sandwiches and mango iced tea in local parks on gorgeous days have done me a world of good, even if only for a handful of hours. I really need more times like these.

Don't get me wrong, the creative act gives me great pleasure. Peace of mind is a fine line of graphite trailing away from my pencil. That is why my 4x6x365 project, my series of daily drawings, is so very important to me. For a brief time every night I get to step away from the usual routine and to create.

Once again, I have continued on with this endeavor of mine and have generated a new set of drawings. I have also once again posted the results on this very website. You can review the latest drawings starting with this one.

The Picture of The Week and Link of The Week have been updated as well. Granted these features often do not reflect my need to create so much as they are part of my attempt to document the world around me and to discover new things. I hope you will enjoy all this week's updates and that you will stop in again next week. Until then, take care.

P.S. I almost forgot to mention that our very own Sparky from Sparky-Cam has a brand new profile on MySpace. You should probably go check it out sometime and add him as one of your most closest internet friends. I know I have!

| 02 | 06 > THIS IS MY WEBSITE AND IT FREAKS ME OUT!

Another week and another month have begun and I couldn't be more excited about it. The previous week was somewhat of a trial for me, so it is great to be able in some small way start fresh with a new one, and with October here, I know that Halloween is not too far away! Yes, everything now leads up to Halloween, the best day of the year!

The awesomeness of Halloween aside, you are not here for the calendar review, you are here for the hot, juicy weekly updates. I knowÉ I can see it in your eyes. Well, okay, so technically I can't see all your eyes, but I know if we were face to face I would. Anyway, let's get on with it.

No new week would be complete without a review of the daily drawings I did during the last one. Yes, my 4x6x365 '06 project keeps rolling along and you are all welcome to review the results. The latest batch of masterpieces start with this one, so peep it.

I've also updated the Link of The Week and Picture of The Week for your viewing pleasure. Well, I'm hoping it is somewhat pleasurable.

With all that said, I think it is time for me to sign off. Take care.
