10 | 29 | 08 > NOT A LONG TIME AGO ON A SITE NOT AT ALL FAR, FAR AWAY...
I have to admit something. I feel pretty stupid coming out and saying this, but I ate a couple bean tamales and a big slice of cake tonight and I think it has somehow turned me a bit stupid. I don't know if there has been some sort of chemical reaction or all my blood has headed down to my stomach or what, but everything I have written in the last few minutes has been lousy.
It's a good thing that I can draw... kind of... uh, sort of. Anyway, let's move onto the updates.
I did manage to draw my daily picture before this current wave of stupidity hit. It now joins the growing ranks of my 4x6x366 '08 project. This week, I crossed the three-hundred drawing mark for the year, and you can see al this week's drawings starting with this one.
The Picture of The Week and Link of The Week have also been updated, so please go check them out when you have a chance.
Well, I'm still feeling a bit on the dopey side, so I'm going to wrap this up and retire for the evening. Until next time, keep it Nerfect.
10 | 22 | 08 > ART SHOWING OFF
First off this week I'd like to thank everyone who came out to see my work at "Nothing to do With a Red Pick-up Truck" this past weekend at The Underscene. While I'm at it, I'd like to thank everyone else who came out to the show and checked out my work without nothing who I was. It was great to get the work out of the archive, up on the wall and in front of a wider audience. Call it pride, but it warmed my heart to see complete strangers taking the time to look at all two hundred and ninety one drawings that I had on display those couple days.
I'd also like to thank Justin Goh and the other members of The Underscene group for inviting me to be a part of the show and allowing me to display my silly drawings. I really appreciate any opportunity to show off what I've been working on, especially offline, in the world at large.
The work I had on display were all the drawings to date of my 4x6x366 '08 project. For those of you who may not be regulars to this site, I've been crafting a drawing (measuring four by six inches) every single day for the last four years. Every Wednesday, I post the drawings I've done since the last weekly update, so make sure to stop by every Wednesday for new drawings.
This week is no different, and I've got a nice batch of drawings for you this week. You can look at the latest drawings starting with the first of the new lot here.
Every week I also post one of photographs I've taken lately. Not surprisingly, this week's picture keeps up with a certain theme I've established here this week. By the way, I call this feature Picture of The Week.
No Wednesday would be complete without a visit to the Link of The Week. Yes, it seems odd to be sent to another website, everything you need can be found here, but each week I like to share something odd or interesting that I've come across online in my limited freetime.
Well, that is all I have for now. See you next time.
10 | 15 | 08 > THE DAY IS ALMOST HERE!
It is less than twenty-four hours until I set up drawings from my 4x6x366 '08 series at the group show, "Nothing To Do With A Red Pick-Up Truck" at The Underscence. Wait, do I have to tell you about this group at show here in Chicago this Friday and Saturday night (7pm-12am?) I've gone over this a few times, but if you'd like the particulars again, either scroll down to past entries here or just visit The Underscene's website.
Typing of good ol' 4x6x366 '08, I've posted the latest drawings from the series here on the site. You can check them out, starting with the first in the new group right here. Those of you coming out to the show will get a sneak peek at a couple new drawings before I post them next Wednesday. Yes, another reason (besides awkward hugs) to come out to the show.
I've also updated the Picture of The Week and Link of The Week, so make sure to enjoy those two features.
Well, that is all for now. Talk at you next week. Later skaters.
10 | 08 | 08 > I BELIEVE IT IS TIME FOR UPDATES
Once again, I have been left out of the presidential debates, so I will address a few items that I think are important here in this format.
First of all, these are the weekly updates. Every Wednesday, unless otherwise noted, I add more delightful content to this humble website.
Next, my series of drawings, 4x6x366 '08 has been added to. Every day I craft a new piece and every week I post the results from this practice. The first one in the newest additions is right here.
I'd also like to remind you all, that all these drawings that I have done so far this year will be on display Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18 from 7pm to 12am at The Underscene group show. You can review their site for more details.
Next, I've updated the Picture of The Week and Link of The Week. These are two solid features that are not just good for America, but good for the global community.
Finally, I'd like to thank you for coming to this website, and to encourage you all to keep it Nerfect. Thank you.
10 | 06 | 08 > COME SEE MY DRAWINGS OFFLINE!
It is your old pal, Mr. Walters here with some exciting news. I will have a few pieces (about 290) at a two-day open studio and video show here in Chicago.
The show is called "Nothing to do With a Red Pick-up Truck" at The Underscene, and it runs Friday, October 17 (7pm-12am) and Saturday, October 18 (7pm-12am.) The Underscene is located at 2215 S. Union (near the intersection of W. Cermak and S. Halsted) in Chicago. More details can be reviewed at: theunderscene.com.
The work that I will be showing is from the 4 x 6 x 366 '08 series, which is made up of the 4" x 6" drawings that I having been drawing one a day for the entire year. Every drawing I have done up until the day of the show will be on display to view in person.
It should be an interesting event and I hope you all can make it out. There is going to be a lot of great work on display.
10 | 01 | 08 > SORRY, I'M NOT AN INSTANT WINNER.
Do you know what I'm doing tomorrow night? I bought a few shirts Tuesday, I've washed them and now I have to iron them. Yes, I'm ironing shirts. Why am I telling you this? Am I proud of this? Is this performance art? Actually, I'm not sure why I'm sharing this with you all exactly. You're here for updates, not the sorted details of my exciting life. Let's get to it shall we?
Right off, I have posted a whole new group of drawings from my 4x6x366 '08 series. You can look at them all, starting with this thing.
By the way, I'm still working out the fine details, but the latest series of drawings will be up on display at The Underscene, Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18 in Chicago. It's a group show that you should come see, especially if you dig my little drawings. Every single piece up to the days of the show will be up for public viewing. Mark your calendar, tattoo the date on your hand, and most importantly, come on out to the show. I will have more details next week.
Speaking of art shows, there is an art show opening this Saturday, October 4 at Fly Bird in Oak Park featuring the paintings of the talented Mr. Paul Wear, so if you're in the area stop by and check it out.
Back to the updates, I've made sure to update the Picture of The Week and Link of The Week for you all. I hope you enjoy them. Well, that is all I've got for you at this moment. Stop by next week, when I'll have more things for you to look at and more details about the show. See you then.
