12 | 26 | 06 >  WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THIS BEFORE?

I downloaded a trial version of the latest version of the application that I use to work on this site, and have been able to post all the daily drawings since the robbery. There might be few bugs here and there, but at least they are up. Check them all out starting right here.

Expect a more traditional weekly update next Monday.

12 | 25 | 06 >  WHAT HAPPENED?

One horrible Monday back in November, I came home to find all the doors to my house open, all the lights on and the contents of drawers dumped out onto the floor. We were robbed! I checked on my dog, who thankfully was still in the house and well, and then called the police. I then waited outside for the police and cursed... a lot.

In the end, it turns out the jerks made off with jewelry, my wife's mandolin, our digital camera, and most of my computer system... They left the ancient printer. It could have been a lot worse, but it was still a pretty heavy blow. I don't even like to think about how many photos from vacations and half-completed projects were on that machine.

Eventually we would replace things and I got a new machine, but I still haven't caught up with things. One of these is this site, and it has killed me everyweek not to be able to update it. I've been keeping up with my 4X6X365 '06 drawings, but it might be a while before I can post them again. I was hoping to get them up before now, but I've been stuck without the application I've used to create and maintain this site and I've been struggling to learn a new one my good friend Brian has set me up with, and who has helped me update thi page.

I'd like to take the time to thank all my friends who've lent a hand during this difficult time. Without borrowed machines and access to software, I'm not sure where I would be now. Those of you out there who know me personally know that I live for all my silly projects and that one of my favorite tools is the computer, so these past months have really kicked me in the gut, but I'd like to think that I am on the road to recovery.

What does this mean for Nerfect.com? Well, until I either get a better grasp of this new web authoring application or can get set up with the old one again, this site probably won't be updated as regularly as it was. It really kills me to come out and say this. I had some great things in the works for not just this website, but the Nerfect cause as well, but I have to put all of them on hold until I get back up to speed.

IBefore I sign off I'd like to thank the various individuals and companies out there that helped me out after the robbery in getting old files back to me. I have really lucked out in a way because I have made so many stickers and buttons of my characters. It might be a while, but favorites such as Diabolical Hot Dog and Hip Hop Hamburger will return. This, of course, reminds me that you can still place orders with Nerfect, and frankly, any order now will be helping us get back on our feet. Actually, if you've been meaning to order stickers or buttons, this would be a great time to order a few hundred of them.

Well, I've got to get back to trying to figure out how to use this application better. Take a good look at your security situation, back up your files and take care of yourself.
