12 | 31 | 08 > HAPPY NEW UPDATES!

Well here we are at the end of another year. The next time I update this site, it will be aught nine and oh so fine. Yes, we are on the cusp of the future, but right now, let's talk about updates.

With the end of the year coming, 4x6x366 '08 is about to be wrapped up. Every Tuesday night, I put the finishing touches on the weekly updates that go live on Wednesday, so the drawings are posted are from last Wednesday to this Tuesday. This means, as I post this we are up to the three hundred and sixty-fifth drawing, and as this is a leap year, that means we'll all have to wait until next Wednesday to see the last drawing in the 4x6x366 '08 set along with the beginning of 4x6x365 '09. Looks like we have a cliffhanger of sorts, doesn't it?

Enough about scheduling and one last drawing. You can see the latest collection of drawings starting with this soon-to-be-favorite right here.

I have also made sure to update the Picture of The Week and Link of The Week and Link of The Week. This week's P.O.T.W. features a detail of a new painting. I've been doing a little more painting lately, and I've been toying around with showing off one a week, but that might be a bit nuts.

Speaking of art, I want to remind you all again about Mr. Jason R. Bell's upcoming show at the Thomas Robertello Gallery in Chicago. It runs from January 9 to February 21 and should be very interesting. Mr. Bell has been doing some excellent work lately. By the way you can read a brief interview with him right here.

Another chum of mine, talented artist Heidi Cody also has an exhibit of work called "Suggested Retail Value" at the Acadiana Center for The Arts in Lafayette, Louisiana. It will run from January 10 until February 28, and is worth checking out if you're in that neck of the woods.

Well, that is it for this time around, and this year. See you next Wednesday, and please have a safe and Nerfect new year!

12 | 24 | 08 > FIGGY PUDDING?

I'm on a strict timeline this morning. There are a few errands I have to run before getting together with Mrs. Walters' side of the family this afternoon, and I have a small window of time to wrap up this week's updates. All this seems to add to the difficultly I find myself in when it comes to putting words together right now. I apologize for the awkwardness.

If I had it more together I'd go on and on about Christmas, how the old year is coming to an end and how the new one promises to include a few serious choices and challenges for me, but I don't. I just don't have that in me this morning. A lot of my life lately is about the series of small tasks that need to be accomplished, and rather than being able to be reflective in thought, I'm thinking about running to the post office and all the household things I need to take care of in the next couple days.

With that said, let's move on to the updates, such as my daily drawings. The 4x6x366 '08 series is quickly coming to a close, and you might be happy to know that I'll be keeping up the practice in 2009. I will not have the quality time I need to work on larger projects for a while, so it is really important that I keep up this regular project.

Enough about the future, let's talk about the present. The latest additions to 4x6x366 '08 can be reviewed, starting with the first in the new set right here.

I've also updated the Picture of The Week and Link of The Week, so go check them out when you have the chance.

Well, that is all I have time to write down for now. I've got to get rolling. See you next year.

12 | 17 | 08 > EXPERIMENTS IN WEBSITE MAINTENANCE

This week I'm going to try something new. I'm going to flip a coin to decide what I write about. Heads, I'll tell you about all the updates I've made to the site this week. Tails, I'll offer up my thoughts on the television show How I Met Your Mother. Here goes.

Heads. Well, that is that. Let's talk about new on Nerfect this week. Sorry, H.I.M.Y.M. fans. Maybe next time.

Even though I've been struggling to rid myself of whatever nasty, space virus has infected me, I did manage to scrawl out a few pieces for my 4x6x366 '08 project. You can see what happened when I put pigment to paper since last Wednesday starting with this drawing, the first of the new batch.

I've also updated the Picture of The Week and Link of The Week features, so please check them out when you have the chance.

Before I sign off, I'd like to mention that one of my best pals and one heck of an artist, Jason Robert Bell will have work on display at the Thomas Robertello Gallery in Chicago January 9 - February 21, 2009. You can find out more about the show here, and I really encourage everyone who can to see the work. Mark those calendars folks!

Well, that's it for this time around. See you next Wednesday.

12 | 10 | 08 > GREETINGS FROM SICK CITY

Last weekend was supposed to be great. I had a few leftover personal days at work just sitting around, so I scheduled Monday off, and it was going to be sweet. Finally, I was going to have the time to tackle a few little projects here and there, but wouldn't you know it, I got sick at the end of the week prior to this magical, three-day weekend.

As I write this, I am occasionally hacking up stuff and I feel a little warm. Actually, I feel a lot better than I have in days, but I'm still not quite one hundred percent. Because of this, I have to keep this week's update report brief, so here it all is.

My 4x6x366 '08 project has been updated, and you can see the latest drawings starting with the first of the new group.

I also updated the Picture of The Week and Link of The Week., so please do go check those out.

Well, I've got to hit the sack. See you next week.

12 | 03 | 08 > YES, NOW THAT TIME IS LOST FOREVER

In a time that I should have been working on this site, I found myself watching one of the lousiest episodes of the Twilight Zone. Mrs. Walters was watching television in the room, and the show came on, and I felt compelled to sit down and watch because I'm under the impression that this is supposed to be a good show.

I thought I liked the Twilight Zone, and felt it was pretty intelligent fare, but the last few episodes I've caught have been real stinkers. Frankly, I can't remember the last episode of this classic television show that I saw that was good and that I didn't groan aloud at the ending.

Could I have been wrong about the Twilight Zone all these years? Is it just that countless people tell you that this is a good show and you feel like you need to agree just to fit in? I'm really hoping that I'm mistaken, and that it has just been an unfortunate luck of the draw for me as of late.

What does this have to do with the weekly updates? Well, not a whole lot, but I just thought I'd share. That is what I do. I also update this website every Wednesday, so if you're still reading this after my thoughts on the Twilight Zone, please allow me to tell you what is new and notable here on Nerfect.com.

First off, I've added a new batch of drawings to my 4x6x366 '08 project. You can review the new set starting with the one I did Last Wednesday right here.

I've also updated the Picture of The Week and Link of The Week. I thought you might appreciate that.

Finally, before signing off, I thought I'd mention the stores around the Chicago area that proudly carry quality Nerfect brand wares. Apparently it is something called the "holidays" and you might be inclined to give the gift of Nerfect to your friends and family. If you're in Chicago, you should check out Broken Cherry and Paper Doll, and if you're out in Oak Park, be sure to drop into Fly Bird. If you are so blessed as to find yourself in Berwyn, check out Horrorbles.

All these fine shops carry my stuff, including the t-shirts I've been putting out lately. I haven't put them up on the website for sale, basically because it seems that the moment I get a supply in, they fly right out to local shops. I hope to fix this problem in the new year by keeping a larger stock here at Nerfect headquarters and getting a new t-shirt section up here on the website. Until then, check out these Chicago-area stores and their websites.

Well, that is all I have for you all right now. See you next week.
