With the dark blue finally looking good, I did a few minor touch ups, covering drips of one color onto another and smoothing out a few parts.

As these final coats dried, I began to add in white to the composition. I used white in the stars, eyes, teeth, and other select parts of the characters for interest. As the paint dried quickly, and the spaces I needed to fill were somewhat small, I was able to quickly recoat the white areas until these areas were covered solidly with the white paint.

This day of painting was a pretty full day, and I was outside with the horse for most of it. Even though I had taken protective precautions, the time outside exposed to the sun was a bit too much and I got really badly sunburned. For my health and well-being, I would have to finish things out of the sun the next day in the garage.

Mrs. Walters suggested that I paint the horseshoes, which I agree is a nice touch.

Rufus helps out by running off with my brushes every few minutes. Thank you, Rufus.
