WHY ARENšT THERE ANY DESKTOP ICONS FOR MAC OS X OR WINDOWS?
Ages ago, Mr. Walters was pretty obsessed with maxing little thirty-two by thirty-two pixel illustrations that most of us know as desktop icons. These icons were primarily created for the (current at the time) Mancintosh operating system, which Mr. Walters used pretty much exclusively.
It wasnšt that he was opposed to making Windows versions of these fonts, it is just that he couldnšt easily test that his icon conversions worked right. He would have to borrow time on someonešs PC and at the time, he just didnšt have that much spare time to dedicate to such a project. Thus, only Macintosh versions of these icons were distributed on Nerfect.com.
By the time Mac OSX came into town, Mr. Walters wasnšt making as many little thirty-two by thirty-two pixel illustrations as he once was, so the fresh shipments of icons slowly came to an end. Times change and so do obsessions.
The icons you can download here at Nerfect.com can still be used with OSX, so keep downloading them. Actually, they look pretty funky when all the other icons on your desktop are all smooth and polished.
With all this said, do not assume that youšve seen the last of Mr. Waltersš icons for Nerfect.com. Who knows when hešll get obsessed again? If he does start making them again, he plans to create them for a variety of operating systems.
